András Pásztor is replacing Barnabás Szelke from 1 October2015 at the helm of the digital division of Mediaworks, one of the biggest media corporations in Hungary.
With a projected annual turnover of over 15 billion HUF, 700 employees, over sixty media brands, including Népszabadság, Nemzeti Sport (National Sport), Világgazdaság (World Economy), eight regional dailies, the women’s and gastro magazine portfolio and digital media products Mediaworks Hungary Ltd. is a leading publishing group of newspapers and magazines in Hungary. András Pásztor’s task pertains to developing and implementing the publisher’s digital strategy. This expert has over ten years of online management experience and this is area he knows after having also worked with the products belonging to the publisher’s portfolio over recent years. András Pásztor developed Világgazdaság Online for nearly nine years, during which he supervised a variety of activities ranging from devising its Internet strategy to web editing through to online sales programmes. Furthermore, he took part in organising news services at the websites of county titles that used to be owned by Axel Springer. Over the past four years, András Pásztor was a project manager and later on managing director at Live Info International. His tasks, amongst others, involved organising the national partner network incorporating 15 publishers and 38 websites, entering the foreign market, international development of online video platforms and services and undertaking the project management of developments. Barnabás Szelke is leaving the publisher. Balázs Rónai, CEO of Mediaworks, commended the collaboration of Barnabás Szelke in the handling of switch-over challenges accompanying the foundation of Mediaworks in 2014 established from the earlier portfolio of Ringier Hungary and Axel Springer Hungary, during which the size of the digital portfolio increased five-fold. |
