From 1 March, Mr. Dániel Bita will be the lead editor of the Politics and Economy column of Népszabadság. The 31-year old professional appointed to supervise the column that defines the political character of the newspaper with the largest circulation in the country will replace the departing Mr. Péter Cseri. Mr. Dániel Bita’s previously worked for ‘168 Óra’, ‘Zoom’ and MTI, and in 2014 he joined Népszabadság. Mr. Bita who had been a column editor until March authored a number of articles that stirred great public interest, and he uncovered, among other things, previously unknown details of various property dealings in the city centre and of the bid to host the Olympic Games.

„Dani Bita will be tasked with improving the reporting of current, authentic and exclusive information in the column that defines the unique political profile of Népszabadság, a newspaper characterized by dynamic self-renewal and loyalty to its traditions and readers, and to raise the standards in investigative journalism with his team”, said András Murányi, editor-in-chief.

The column strategy will also be strengthened by Attila Kálmán who has feshly joined the newspaper, and previously worked for Origo, and more recently for hvg.hu. His profile includes, in the area of current political matters, subjects related to education and social issues, but he also publishes articles that analyse the positions and background activities of parliamentary parties. The 27-year old journalist will join the team of Népszabadság from 7 March.

From 1 March, Mr. Dániel Bita will be the lead editor of the Politics and Economy column of Népszabadság.
